September 2019 in Bangkok

September 1-15

Here are some random pics from the first few weeks of September. Captions with each picture. Colt went to a camp with the rest of the secondary school, so Zamin and I had a few days together on our own.
Highlighting Zamin's evening wear in 85 degree weather. 🤣
I made runny eggs and toast! Two reasons this is an accomplishment. 1. We don't have a toaster, so I got innovative. 2. First time I've cooked anything beyond hard-boiling eggs since we got here. 🤣🤣🤣 Thai street food is so yummy and it's so convenient to pick up or order that we haven't had a reason to cook yet. Don't worry, my personal chef is itching to get back into the kitchen. 👏👏👏

Took public transportation to the nearest park/green space. Luckily, we found one of Zamin's favorite things right now, a map. :)

Ready for school in his PE clothes. (That bucket was emptied the previous day. So much rain!)
One of his favorite snacks: corn. Picked it up on the street and he couldn't wait until we got home.

Sporty Zamin 😁
Prepared (maybe overly) for the rain. 😂

Shake didn't last long. Lol. :)
September 21

On this Saturday, we decided to explore the "Middle Eastern" District. Most of the signs and menus are in Arabic. We found a great little grocery store and picked up some spices and goodies, then we walked around a bit before settling on a restaurant to get some lunch to go. :) As you can see, Zamin was excited to have kabobs. It's been awhile!

Had a fun, relaxing day today. We went to The Commons, an open air market/shopping complex with several places to eat. Today, there was a special event highlighting local Thai products and businesses. We did a tea tasting with Araksa Tea, which was wonderful. Had to take several artistic tea pictures. ☺️ Afterward, we got some vegetarian Laab Tod from Thaan Thai, made with an air fryer. As you can tell by Zamin's face, they were delicious. This was one of the coolest markets we've been to, and we'll definitely be checking it out again.
